Shipard
Translation of the project README. The Czech original is authoritative.
Shipard is a web application for business accounting, invoices and documents. It cuts down on manual retyping: forward a received invoice by e-mail or upload it as a file, and AI prepares a draft accounting document for you to check.
We are building it for independent accountants who keep the books for several clients and for business owners working with their own accountant. Shipard helps with preparing and processing documents; checking them and the responsibility for correct accounting stay with a person.
From a received invoice to an accounting document
- Send or upload the invoice. Forward it to your company's address in Shipard, or drag the PDF onto the Dashboard.
- Check the draft. AI reads the supplier, line items and amounts. You compare the draft with the original and fix any mistakes before issuing.
- Issue the document. You'll find it in the list of received invoices. Completing it triggers automatic posting and records the payable.

Before issuing, you compare the data prepared by AI with the original invoice.

The same invoice after issuing — the document data and the original attachment in one place. Both screenshots use sample data.
What Shipard helps you get done
- Received invoices — from upload and draft review to posting. You can also enter a document by hand.
- Work to do — the Dashboard gathers new mail, draft documents and warnings about inconsistencies.
- Accounting and payments — the accounting journal, reports, and matching invoices with payments from imported bank statements.
- Finding your way around your data and the app — ask the built-in AI assistant (Chat) about your records and about how to do things. The assistant only reads data.
Other areas and what they can do are described in the overview of what Shipard can do.
Where we are
Shipard is in alpha and we are looking for people to try it with us. Right now we are focused on processing received invoices and on the correctness of the accounting that follows from them. It helps us to know how it copes with your documents and where working in the app is unclear or needlessly complicated.
The application is under active development and does not yet cover a full accounting operation. It already handles received and issued invoices, the bank, the balance ledger, VAT including the file for the tax portal, and fixed assets, but inventory, projects, the cash book and year-end closing are still missing, for example. So for now, don't use Shipard as the only place where you keep your books.
Details are in the overview of limitations. The roadmap shows what we are finishing and in what order.
I want to try it
All you need is a browser — we run the application. Ask for access at podpora@shipard.cz. How to get an invitation, start with your first invoice and send us feedback is described in the guide for testers.
Guides and community
- Getting started — first login, setup and your first invoice.
- User guides — how individual things are done in Shipard.
- Report a bug or suggest an idea — the rules for public reports are in the guide for testers.
A quick question, something unclear, or you just want to talk about where Shipard is heading? We have a Discord — there's only a handful of us there so far, but we answer quickly and no question is too small. Feel free to just drop in and look around.
Note for readers outside Czechia: the application, its guides and the Discord are in Czech. What we are building towards and how you can help is on the English overview.
For developers
Shipard's code is written by AI — people direct the architecture, the rules and the assignments, and read every diff. Under the hood is a modular backend in PHP 8.5 with MariaDB, a REST API and a frontend in Svelte 5; one server can hold several companies with separated data. Whatever the core lacks is added by modules — private ones too, outside this repository.
